Position overview
This position's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creating and posting original news stories as directed by the Editor.
- Researching press releases and other sources.
- Interviewing people within the industry.
- Filing reports from trade events.
- Reporting on breaking news.
- The candidate will be tasked with scouring the Internet for breaking stories.
- The candidate will be expected to prepare industry reports for sale in our online shop.
- He/she will have to check grammar and copy editing of news stories and editing sales data information. As a Staff Writer, communication is important and the individual should be charismatic, charming and sociable, readily able to communicate with the relevant parties in the industry.
The candidates will have an understanding of the video games industry, consumer electronics and the computer industry. Direct writing experience is a must. A degree in Journalism, English or similar field is required. The candidate must have had articles published in a professional publication. The candidate must work well with others and take direction and criticism in a positive manner. The candidate must have strong communication skills both oral and written.
